In the port of Rijeka there are separate terminals for the transshipment of general, bulk, liquid, container and ro-ro cargo, as well as specialized terminals for cereal crops, soya, phosphates, fruits, frozen meat and fish, timber, live stock, heavy palettes, and dangerous cargo. The overall capacity of the port is estimated to 33 million tons a year, of which 24 million tons regards oil and its derivates and 9 million tons falls on general and bulk cargo.
