Harnosand's port has a central location in the middle of Norrland's coastline next to the mouth of the river Angermanland in the Gulf of Bothnia. Within a 100 km radius there are the municipalities of Sundsvall, Timra, Kramfors, Ornskoldsvik and Solleftea. Several large industrial towns are also situated in the region. There are good road and rail communications via the E4, E14 and the East Coast line. The distance to the waters around the islands of Aland is approximately 130 nautical miles. This can be covered in 8 - 10 hours in a ship at normal speed. Harnosands Hamn
